In today’s quickly changing, fragmented, and sometimes irresponsible media environment, it is often difficult to sift the wheat from the chaff; to differentiate solid reporting from biased fiction. At Discover Politics our mission is to provide our readers with facts, insight, and our best collective judgment without tossing live grenades around every corner. There is more than enough hot shrapnel flying through the political world—Discover Politics won’t contribute to that.

We at DP also understand that politics evoke strong passion and powerful emotion. That is as it should be; we encourage such. Indeed, a good and muscular democracy is the product of a fair and lively exchange of creative ideas. This dialogue does not necessarily require senatorial civility, but there is never a need to question the patriotism of the debaters. Discover Politics starts with the premise that we all believe in America, and we all believe in Democracy.
