MNGOP Press Release: REPUBLICAN PARTY OF MINNESOTA CALLS ON PETERSON & OBERSTAR TO CONDEMN GRAYSON’S SEXIST ATTACK ON ADVISER TO FED CHAIR

St. Paul- Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Tony Sutton today called on Minnesota Democrats Collin Peterson and Jim Oberstar to immediately condemn the sexist and demeaning comments of their political ally, Florida Rep. Alan Grayson, who recently called Federal Reserve official Linda Robertson a “K Street whore.”

“Just how out of touch are Collin Peterson and Jim Oberstar with Minnesota? Both men have donated $1,000 to extreme Florida Democrat Alan Grayson who launched a sexist attack on a senior government official as a ‘K Street whore.’  Grayson also believes Republicans want Americans to ‘die quickly’ and that they have committed a ‘holocaust’ on America.  Instead of showering Grayson with campaign cash, Peterson and Oberstar need to do the right thing: immediately condemn these unacceptable and misogynistic comments.”

Peterson & Oberstar Agree: Out Of Control Grayson Deserves Their Support

“On the last full day of the fundraising quarter, the campaigns of Minnesota Democratic Reps. Collin Peterson and Jim Oberstar donated $1,000 each to a Democratic congressman from Florida who has taken heat from the GOP for saying that the Republican health care plan is to ‘die quickly.’”  (Cynthia Dizikes, “Peterson, Oberstar campaigns donate to Grayson,” MinnPost.com, October 16, 2009)

Meet Peterson & Oberstar Ally Alan Grayson

Grayson Attacked Female Bernanke Adviser As A “K Street Whore.” “Republicans and Democrats slammed Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) for calling Linda Robertson, an adviser to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, a ‘K Street whore’ in a month-old radio interview that circulated on Capitol Hill Monday night.” (Jake Sherman & Jonathan Allen, “Alan Grayson Goes Too Far For Colleagues,” Politico, October 26, 2009)

Grayson Flashback: GOP Wants Americans To “Die Quickly.” “Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) warned Americans that ‘Republicans want you to die quickly’ during an after-hours House floor speech Tuesday night.” (Jonathan Allen, “Grayson: GOP Wants ‘You To Die,’” Politico, September 29, 2009; Click Here To View)

Grayson Refused To Apologize; Accused Opponents Of “Holocaust.” “Instead of saying he was sorry about accusing Republicans of wanting people to ‘die quickly,’ he gave an apology ‘to the dead.’ ‘I would like to apologize,’ he said. ‘I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven’t voted sooner to end this holocaust in America.’” (Jonathan Allen, “Grayson Likens Health Crisis, Holocaust,” Politico, September 30, 2009; Click Here To View)

Grayson: Republicans Are “Knuckle Dragging Neanderthals.” Grayson: “What the Republicans have been doing is an insult to America. … They’ve been dragging their feet. These — these are foot dragging, knuckle dragging Neanderthals who think they can dictate policy to America by being stubborn.” (CNN’s “The Situation Room,” September 30, 2009; Click Here To View)

Grayson Attack Website Called NamesOfTheDead.com. “More recently, Republicans complained that a Website he created and promoted on the House floor – www.namesofthedead.com – had links to both his official House Web site and his campaign site. He later removed the link to his campaign site.” (Jake Sherman & Jonathan Allen, “Alan Grayson Goes Too Far For Colleagues,” Politico, October 26, 2009)
