Musk earned $1 million from sales of a new perfume with a strange name

He reported selling 10,000 vials in just a few hours

The richest man in the world Elon Musk has “sniffed” a new opportunity to accumulate a capital from bizarre products such as, for example, a perfume called “Burnt Hair” (Burnt Hair), reported Reuters. He announced that in just a few hours he sold 10,000 vials, from which he earned 1 million dollars, BTA reported.

“With a name like mine it was inevitable that I would go into the perfume business – why did I struggle with it for so long,” Musk wrote on Twitter, where he describes himself as a perfume salesman.

“The essence of persistent desire” is the website description of his latest offering, which costs $100 a vial and will begin shipping in the first quarter of 2023. Musk first hyped the product in September.

Among the tycoon’s previous musings are Tesla’s own brand of tequila, launched in 2020, and a pair of “short shorts” to mark Musk’s victory over investors who bet against the electric car maker’s success, which is currently the world’s highest capitalized car company.

The Boring Company, Elon Musk’s infrastructure, and tunneling services firm, was last valued at €5.7 billion, and after selling flamethrowers for $500 each in early 2018, hit $10 million. He also sold 50,000 hats to the Boring Company.

Musk’s ambitions over the years ranged from colonizing Mars to a new energy-sustainable economy, and to that end, he created Tesla, SpaceX, and several smaller companies.

Last week, the billionaire suggested going ahead with an initial $44 billion bid to acquire Twitter, calling for an end to a lawsuit by the social network that could make him pay whether he wants to or not.

If successful, the deal would put Musk at the helm of one of the most powerful media platforms and end months of controversy that have damaged the Twitter brand and cemented the mogul’s volatile reputation.
