Musk: Shit… Starlink will help Ukraine for free

Elon Musk has announced that he will continue to pay for the Starlink satellite communications stations that he sent to the Ukrainians to help fight the war with Russia, the BBC reported.

“Shit… Even though Starlink is losing money and other companies are getting billions of dollars of taxpayer money, we will continue to fund the Ukrainian authorities,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

This week, Musk announced that he would stop funding Starlink satellite communications stations, which he donated to Ukraine at the start of the war and which have greatly helped Ukrainians, both military and civilian.

SpaceX sent a letter to the Pentagon in September saying it could no longer continue to fund Starlink deliveries at the same rate.

The letter contained a request for the Pentagon to cover the cost of supplying equipment sets to the authorities and military in Ukraine. They, according to SpaceX, will cost more than $120 million by the end of the year and $400 million next year.

Hours later, the Pentagon responded to Musk that there were other options for satellite Internet.

Just three days after the start of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, Musk provided Starlink terminals to the Ukrainian army for free at the expense of his company SpaceX.

We remind you that recently Musk took up the problems in Ukraine and even proposed a plan to resolve the conflict, which includes territorial concessions to Russia. He was accused of contacting and even colluding with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile, the billionaire proposed in his peace plan that Ukraine remain neutral and formally cede Crimea to Russia and proposed holding referendums under UN supervision on whether the occupied Ukrainian territories should join Russia after the Kremlin claims that those territories almost unanimously voted to join Russia last month.
