Joe Biden and his Brazilian counterpart Lula da Silva meet on February 10

US President Joe Biden will receive his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on February 10 this year, the White House announced.

This comes just a month after far-right demonstrators stormed government buildings in Brazil’s capital.

“The two leaders will discuss US support for democracy in Brazil and how the two countries can continue to work together to promote democratic values in the region and around the world,” White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said.

Biden and Lula da Silva will also discuss issues related to climate change, migration, economic development, and security, she added.
