Republican and former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley has announced that she will join the presidential race in the United States in 2024.
She did this through a special video, CNN reports. Haley is expected to formally announce her campaign involvement at a special event in Charleston on Wednesday.
Haley, 51, will be the first Republican to enter the 2024 presidential race, facing off against former President Donald Trump, who has made it clear he will run again, NOVA reported.
She was also the US ambassador to the United Nations, but in 2018 she submitted her resignation, which was accepted by President Donald Trump.
