Trump called fellow party members “idiots” at the annual conservative conference
Donald Trump believes he is the only candidate for the 2024 presidential election who can save the country from the “warmongers” Democrats and the “fanatics and fools” of the Republican Party.
He said this during the annual conference of American conservatives in Washington on Saturday. Trump officially announced that he is running for president in November.
“We have a Republican Party run by monsters, neocons, globalists, bigoted open-border advocates and fools,” Trump said on the final, third day of the major political forum.
According to him, the United States has been brought to its knees, and Americans are in the midst of “an epic battle to save the country from people who hate it.” He also criticized the sending of military aid to Ukraine by the United States. “I am the only candidate who can make this promise: I will prevent World War III,” he added.
Trump was defeated by incumbent Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
AFP writes that until recently the Conference on Conservative Political Action, organized by the American Conservative Union, was a forum attended by conservative activists and elected officials from the US and other countries, while in recent years it has been completely subordinated to the far-right Trump movement. Let’s Make America Great Again.”
Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida and Trump’s primary campaign opponent, and former Vice President Mike Pence did not attend the conference.
