Trump: I can end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours
Former US President Donald Trump said he could negotiate an end to the conflict in Ukraine in 24 hours.
“If I were president, the war between Russia and Ukraine would never have happened. But even now, as president, I could negotiate an end to this terrible war within 24 hours,” Newsweek quoted Trump as saying in a publication on the Truth Social social network. But the former American president does not explain how he will do it.
Trump has repeatedly warned that the situation in Ukraine could escalate into World War III. Earlier, commenting on the actions of the administration of the current US President Joe Biden towards Ukraine, Trump said that the conflict should be ended with an agreement, and not to send millions of dollars in aid to Kyiv.
In addition, Trump claimed that because of the actions of the United States, the conflict in Ukraine could lead to a world war.
On Thursday, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Newland said the US administration is ready to consider easing some sanctions against Russia as part of serious talks on Ukraine. At the same time, she emphasized that the US wants Kyiv to regain control over the territories that have become part of Russia or are under the control of the Russian military.
The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, countered that Newland’s message was unacceptable to Moscow, as historical decisions cannot be replaced by promises to revise restrictions.
