Scientists from two Russian observatories discovered a new asteroid 2022 SE37 on the night of October 1, TASS reported, quoting a statement from the M.V. Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics at the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“On the night of October 1, two observatories in southern Russia confirmed the discovery of a new near-Earth asteroid 2022 SE37,” the scientific organization announced on its Telegram channel.
The diameter of the asteroid is half a kilometer. “In the foreseeable future, it does not pose a danger to the Earth,” the specialists add.
The Telegram post is accompanied by pictures of the asteroid taken by telescopes.
