The former US president called for an end to hostilities in Ukraine because of the threat of world war. He made the point in a video posted Thursday on Truth Social.

“Every day this proxy conflict in Ukraine continues, we risk starting a global war, our goal is an immediate full cessation of hostilities. This is the main problem. We need peace without delay,” Trump said.

Earlier, Trump said that US President Joe Biden, with his policy towards Ukraine, could be pushing humanity towards a third world war. Trump also noted that if he wins the presidential election, the United States will be able to resolve the situation in Ukraine in one day.

The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 2024. Trump announced in November 2022 that he was entering the race for the country’s highest office. The current US leader, Joe Biden, has made it clear that he is counting on re-election.
