Powerful winter storms swept across much of North America and snarled heavy traffic ahead of Christmas, NOVA reported.
About 250 million people in the United States and Canada are in the icy grip of the bad weather, and at least 19 storm-related deaths have already been reported.
Over a million and a half people are without electricity. The powerful storm stretched more than 3,200 km from Texas to the Canadian province of Quebec.
Snowy weather and crashes have caused major traffic jams on many highways in the Midwest.
Even in the usually warmer southern states of Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, cold and frost warnings have been issued.
