The United States confiscated two planes of Roman Abramovich

A federal court in New York has approved a decision to confiscate two planes of Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich, CNBC reported.

Abramovich is considered close to the Russian government.

He has already filed a lawsuit to overturn EU decisions. These are Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and Gulfstream G650ER aircraft.

The court said the two planes had violated restrictions on exports to the United States. One plane is in Dubai and the other in Russia.

Abramovich is believed to control the two planes. This is done through a number of fictitious companies.

Details of their activities are expected.
